Clinique Ibn Tofail opened its doors in 1998 with a clear mission: to bring highly specialised, family-centred paediatric medicine to the fast-growing city of Marrakech. What began as a child-focused facility quickly earned a reputation for clinical excellence, and by 2002 the founding couple—paediatric surgeon Dr. Driss El Bouyousfi and managing director Mrs. Amal Benhalima—took the bold step of transforming the clinic into a fully fledged multidisciplinary hospital able to serve patients of every age.

Today the clinic occupies more than 2,200 m² spread over four purpose-built floors on Rue Ibn Abdelmalik, just 300 metres from the CHU Ibn Tofail teaching hospital and the regional blood bank. The ground-floor emergency department functions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with separate adult and paediatric circuits to guarantee rapid triage and minimal cross-infection. Supported by a fully digital radiology centre—currently being upgraded with a 32-slice CT scanner and digital mammography suite—emergency physicians can obtain laboratory, ultrasound and standard X-ray results in minutes. Ophthalmological emergencies are the only area referred elsewhere, ensuring that resources remain focused on the clinic’s extensive in-house competencies.

Medical specialties round out the service portfolio: pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, dermatology, endocrinology and general practice consultations are delivered daily by a network of resident and visiting consultants. For expectant mothers, continuous CTG foetal monitoring and immediate access to obstetric surgeons provide an added layer of safety, while paediatricians perform newborn examinations and co-ordinate follow-up visits throughout childhood.

Beyond its clinical infrastructure, Clinique Ibn Tofail places strong emphasis on hospitality and administrative simplicity. Agreements with CNSS, CNOPS, FAR, CMIM, RAM and virtually every major private insurer in Morocco allow most patients to benefit from direct billing.
