Hôpital Universitaire International Cheikh Khalifa Ibn Zaid – more commonly called Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital – is a flagship healthcare project created by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and inaugurated in 2015. Strategically located on Boulevard Mohamed Taieb Naciri in the Hay Hassani district of Casablanca, the facility was designed from the ground up to meet international standards of quality, safety and patient comfort. Spread across 6.5 hectares and offering 55,000 m² of built space, the complex has quickly become a benchmark for tertiary care not only in Morocco but throughout North and West Africa.

The hospital houses 205 inpatient beds, 46 consultation rooms, 85 diagnosis and treatment rooms and 8 fully digital operating theatres. These high-capacity resources are backed by an integrated laboratory, a modern radiology suite (MRI, CT, PET-CT, digital X-ray and interventional imaging), an on-site blood bank and advanced critical-care units including adult, neonatal and paediatric intensive-care facilities. Thanks to this infrastructure, virtually the entire patient journey – screening, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, rehabilitation and follow-up – can be provided under one roof.

Clinical activity is organised into specialised centres of excellence. The Cardiovascular & Heart Care Institute delivers everything from non-invasive cardiology to open-heart surgery and catheter-based interventions, making it one of the country’s most comprehensive cardiac programmes. The Oncology & Haematology Centre combines chemotherapy, radiotherapy and bone-marrow transplantation with supportive psycho-oncology services. Other flagship departments include general and laparoscopic surgery, orthopaedics & sports traumatology, neurology & neurosurgery, digestive health & hepatology, urology & men’s health, women’s health & IVF, dentistry & maxillofacial surgery, dermatology & laser medicine, ENT & voice disorders, ophthalmology, and a full-service paediatrics and neonatology wing.

Emergency medicine is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via a dedicated SAMU team reachable at +212 5 29 00 44 88. The unit is equipped for advanced life support, rapid imaging and direct admission to ICU or the cath-lab, ensuring that time-sensitive cases such as stroke, myocardial infarction and severe trauma receive immediate, guideline-driven care.

Beyond day-to-day clinical practice, the hospital plays a pivotal academic role through its partnership with Mohammed VI University for Health Science. Medical students, residents and nursing staff train on site, benefiting from simulation labs and multidisciplinary case conferences.
